Listing Description

Babbo is a traditional Italian restaurant in Mayfair. Named after an Italian word for father, at Babbo they place a real emphasis on creating a warm family atmosphere. Family photos line the walls of this intimate eatery and the staff are said to be extremely welcoming. Head Chef Carlo Scotto joined Babbo in September 2012 and the food is understated but very high quality.

Mayfair Magazine described Babbo as “an elegant yet warm and fairly traditional dining room [which] has been winning over diners of Mayfair since it launched in 2009”. Time Out has been similarly positive about the restaurant saying that they have a “stubborn insistence on high quality, homely food cooked with love, Babbo’s menu reflects traditional Italian dining while maintaining a high level of quality and presentation.”

They have a disabled toilet and although they do occasionally use it for storing excess chairs, they make sure to remove these when a less able person visits. They only other issue is a small step at the entrance but they say it is not too difficult to get inside with a little assistance. The staff told us that they’re very friendly and will do whatever they can to assist less able customers – a demonstration of the family vibe that they have there even if they do say so themselves.

Babbo gets a provisional 2.5 BBS Ticks.
