Update Jan 2023: The Box Tree had this to say re their accessibility

“There is access in to the restaurant on the ground floor, unfortunately however the building is listed and the toilets are situated upstairs with no room for any developments or changes. The closest ones would be around the corner at a neighbouring pub. I hope this helps.”

So we keep them at 2 out of 3 BBSTicks , stylish, good food but no disabled toilets.

Fine Dining for 50 Years in Ilkley W. yorks

They have 3 AA Rosettes and lauded by some critics but not from us as it has no disabled toilet. This is because they’re a Listed Building, according to one reader, who nonetheless thoroughly approved of the dining experience. So that ‘old chestnut’ reared its head again. May we remind everyone that Historic England & English Heritage who do the Listing, insist that it’s everyones history and this should not exclude people.

However they are a small outfit and the ‘Reasonable’ clause does apply with regard to costs of a disabled toilet but please try to accommodate disabled people??!!
