On 7th Oct 2019 we will be presenting the winners of The Blue Badge Access Awards at The Langham in London (tickets available here) and here’s one of the nominees for Best Boutique Hotel:

Named after Christopher Marlowe’s famous work Tamburlaine the Great, The Tamburlaine, Cambridge, says of their style,

‘our look is polished and contemporary; marrying subtle accents of Persian influence with a dash of Cambridge’s old school charm.’

It is luxurious in an eclectic way and the common areas are very comfortable. However, when you look for accessibility on the website, they only mention that there are a few Blue Badge Parking Spaces. This is a shame as their facilities are very good. Flat access from the street and the public areas are accessible with flat smooth flooring. It’s well lit and there’s a good accessible toilet in the reception area.

The bar and restaurant are both accessible with room to move around and wheelchair height tables. The accessible bedroom has removable HEWI grab bars (located where the silver plates are shown) and it’s well equipped with a wet room shower.
