Listing Description

45 Park Lane is part of  The Dorchester Collection and is just opposite the Dorchester Hotel. I had wanted to investigate for a while and went the other week. Lieutenant No4 was meant to accompany me but cancelled just as I was getting into my taxi( now you know why he’s known as the ‘I don’t carer’)  – panic ensued! Luckily I had a friend staying but she was out shopping, nevertheless we managed to co-ordinate and arrived at the entrance at the same time.

I shouldn’t have worried as this is a 5 star Hotel and the entrance/ foyer is flat with marbled floors. On the ground floor is the American Steak restaurant Cut which is completely accessible  with room for the wheelchair and tables at the right height for me. The disabled toilet is also 5 star, as you would expect and is on the ground floor, although not as big as some.

I was shown a suite as the disabled rooms were occupied but I did ask the questions about walk-in shower, rails, room to manoeuvre and height of wardrobe rails. I was assured that they all were all present and correct. The suite was luxurious and although carpeted it wasn’t so plush I couldn’t move my wheels.

My final inspection was bar 45 – saved the best to last! It is styled as modern Art Deco and is just as I would imagine a Hollywood bar of ‘the golden age’ would be. We ordered some snacks which were  amazing. We had mini Kobe beef burgers known as ‘sliders’and mini lobster and crab burgers. They were very reasonably priced considering we were in Park Lane. I didn’t try a cocktail but they looked extremely enticing, particularly the Hemingway Daiquiri – see reference in my previous post! I am certainly going back to try them in earnest?!

As you would expect 45 Park Lane gets the maximum 3 Ticks from Blue badge Style.
