Listing Description

The London version of the upmarket H10 hotel chain is a fantastic new build hotel with a roof top bar that’s worth visiting in its own right.

The newly constructed H10’s asymmetric architecture really stands out as something quite cutting edge and the hotel received a RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) National Architecture Award in 2011. It’s a modern tower block design with step free entrances and lift access that makes it very accessible for disabled visitors. The interior design is similarly modern in taste with simple but brightly furnished rooms and public spaces.

The Three O Two restaurant, on the hotel’s first floor, serves tapas and individual main courses and specialises in Mediterranean and international cuisine. The food is delicious and comes in very generous portions and the restaurant is cool contemporary and understated. There is a disabled toilet in the restaurant area and the space is all step free and well lit.

However, the main attraction here must surely be the stunning Waterloo Sky Bar on the eighth floor (again accessible via the lifts). The bar boasts gorgeous views out towards The London Eye, The Shard and across the rest of London. It’s a very stylish place to enjoy the views and for great views in great surroundings it’s hard to beat. The H10’s location south of the river works well for this sort of bar as there a few if any surrounding buildings of the same height to block the views. Unfortunately the Sky Bar’s outside terrace has a couple of steps to get onto it but the rest of the bar is step free.

The H10 offers adapted rooms for disabled guests, complete with wet room bathrooms with plenty of grab rails. All in all this is a very stylish, modern hotel. We give the H10 2.5 BBS Ticks.
