We had Sunday lunch at La Capanna which is located in the high street in Cobham. It is Italian cuisine and they have a set menu on Sundays. The service was excellent and the food was very good.

Now I will tell you the Bad news and the Good news:

Bad news first, there is no less abled WC and there are two steps down into the restaurant. Also there is a narrow corridor from the reception area to the dining area but once you are inside the reception area it is all on one level.

Now the GOOD news. I was told that on January 1st 2015 the restaurant will close for an extensive refurbishment and following that it will be totally accessible with no steps into the restaurant and less abled WC.

The tide is slowly turning, restaurants and hotels are realising that by providing easy access and properly thought out toilet facilities for less abled customers they will increase their turnover and probably gain a few loyal less abled clients.

Well done La Capanna!

We give them 1 BBS Tick for now but we will definitely reconsider this mark after next year’s work is done.
