Listing Description

Parker’s Tavern   was visited by The Relative Lieutenant and has been nominated as Best Budget/Upmarket Restaurant at the 2019 Blue Badge Access Awards.

It could have been Best Upmarket however we only ate the snacks that are served all day and not too expensive, pichards £8, cheese straws £4 and truffled duck egg on toast £12. They were as they say ‘easy going British classics with an eccentric twist. ‘ The Chef Tristan Welch of Launceston Place has worked with the likes of Gordon Ramsay and Michel Roux Jr. and Jay Rayner, at The Guardian, enthused about Parker’s and Tristan saying

‘Crowd-pleasing? You won’t want to leave’ .

Parker’s is part of the newly refurbished University Arms Hotel and access is great with a gentle ramp and then smooth flooring throughout. It wasn’t noisy but then it wasn’t packed. There is a softly furnished bar where noise is more muted and there’s also a disabled toilet. We give Parker’s 2.5 BBS Ticks for style & accessibility.
