Update Dec 2024: I knew this was a good restaurant and now others agree. It’s a welcome addition to the dining scene of Chiswick which includes La Trompette. In 2023 Silver Birch was awarded 3 Rosettes by the AA and in 2024 they won their Restaurant of the Year Award. Squaremeal in 2024 gave them the Gold Award in their Top 100. So maybe they’ll win our Blue Badge Access Award, Best Restaurant 2025, find out May 1st ’25.

Having trained worldwide at cities including, Toronto, New York, Stockholm and London this means she has a wide understanding food, flavours and culture. In this case a modern British flavour with a twist – including spice and heat.

And what about access? Well refreshingly they told us up front, in a nod to accessibility, that the disabled toilet was in the next door restaurant! There was a step to enter Silver Birch and once in the flooring was smooth and flat. The tables accommodated a wheelchair, it was quite dark in the back area and better nearer the front. Not too noisy despite some hard surfaces.

The Michelin Guide described it as a,

‘bright neighbourhood restaurant, set on the bustling high street. Both the décor and the food are fresh and modern; cooking has a lightness of touch and a purity to its flavours, with plenty of plant-based options.’

We had a good meal there with unobtrusive yet efficient service, unusual wine and good fresh food – they get 2 BBS Ticks (would be 3 if they had a disabled toilet)
