Listing Description

Tonic is a small cocktail bar in Edinburgh.

They come up with very creative cocktail menus featuring the classics along with their own recipes. The list of movie based cocktails – such as the Ron Burgundy or Pineapple Express – looks intriguing; although I can’t understand why you’d have a cocktail called a Pornstar Martini on a menu of drinks based on The Incredibles.

Tonic certainly has a sense of fun around it. They promise to leave customers “quietly inebriated, with a huge smile on your face!”

The access in Tonic is difficult. There are five or six steps to go down just to get in to the building. Once inside, it is easier to get around but there is no disabled toilet. Apparently the toilet is spacious but without any hand rails etc.

Tonic gets a provisional 1.5 BBS Ticks because it does sound fun. It might be worth going for a drink or two but it couldn’t be a ‘session’ bar because it lacks the disabled facilities.
