Listing Description

We previously reviewed a staycation treehouse, Sky Den in the Kielder Forest, Northumberland. Designed by George Clarke we ascertained it was partly accessible and it received 2 BBS Ticks. So we were delighted to see that there is a completely accessible treehouse at Lanrick in Scotland. Pipit, is one of five treehouses on the Lanrick estate.

Located 30 minutes from Stirling and an hour from Glasgow or Edinburgh, The Treehouses

‘offer true escapism in a stunning and private woodland setting, bordering the Trossachs National Park, …. A stay at The Treehouses allow our guests to switch off from the busy outside world and find peace and tranquility living amongst our beautiful trees and the wide variety of birds and wildlife they are home to’.

There is a comprehensive, accessibility review by SimplyEmma from February of this year as their website really doesn’t do it justice. They describe pipit as,

‘inspired by a Scandinavian cabin with soothing colours, minimalistic interiors, and natural textures, creating a cool and contemporary style. Nestled amongst the trees, with a large Pine tree overhead it has an incredibly special ambience.’

There’s a step free ramp from the car park and it really is in the middle of a forest so no disturbing background noises for those with partial hearing. There’s also plenty of room for wheelchair users and a wheel-in shower. According to Emma’s review there are 2 bars around the toilet, a shower seat and grab bars on the shower post. There’s a fixed and handheld shower but the mirror is too high for a wheelchair user. It’s self catering accommodation with a spacious kitchen and a cosy log burner in the living room and for the more hardy folk there’s an external copper bath!!

Pipit Treehouse on The Lanrick Estate. Access By a Gentle Ramp From the Carpark
In The Middle of a Forest, Literally With a Tree poking Through the Deck
Cosy Spacious Living Area. Log Burner , No Wi-Fi & Plenty of Natural Light
An External Copper Bath for the Hardy and An Accessible Wet-room is Inside For the Less Able

We give them 3 BBS Ticks for style, accessibility and for something different!!
