Wild Honey is a stylish, Michelin starred, Modern European restaurant in Mayfair. It’s the second restaurant that Will Smith and Anthony Demetre, the team behind Arbutus (and also the team later behind Les Deux Salons which we have reviewed), set up together and has been popular since 2007.

It was recently reported that Wild Honey is now the first London restaurant to offer fancy chocolate boards as a dessert option which only adds to the appeal of this classy restaurant. Posh chocs will be the cherry on top of the intricate and fresh recipes they serve. The menus change daily so you never know exactly what they’ll be serving but the French inspired menus offer dishes like “Cornish turbot, cockles, winkles, curly kale, roast endive with Sicilian orange” and “Denham Estate venison, chestnut purée, pickled cranberries.” With a name like Wild Honey one would hope that the pre-chocolate board desserts are up to scratch and fortunately they are excellent. So it’s really a case of come for the food, stay for the after dinner chocolate board.

In terms of style and disabled access, Wild Honey is good but for one significant aberration (no prizes for guessing what that’s going to be). The decor works well, with antique floor boards and traditional wood panelling on the walls being offset by the modern art hanging from them (the walls, not the floors) and a contemporary selection of vibrant furniture. Access for street level is step free, although ever so slightly bumpy at the door. Inside the wooden floor is flat and the whole restaurant is very open with a bright and clear view from the front to the back. However, there is no disabled toilet – that would be the aberration then. Yet another Michelin level restaurant with no disabled toilet.

Wild Honey is stylish with good food, plus chocolate boards, but because it doesn’t have a disabled toilet we can only give a provisional 2 BBS Ticks.
